New Publication in Visual Cognition

Research conducted in the BAP Lab has been published in Visual Cognition!  Previous research has shown that characteristics of a face (including age, race, and emotional expression) can modulate the extent to which participants follow the eye gaze of the face. We report the results of a series of experiments that test whether the attractiveness of the faces is one such characteristic. Across three experiments we find no evidence that attractiveness impacts gaze following, but we do find gender differences in gaze following behavior which we are currently investigating.
